Saltbox Opens New Seattle Location, Continues Mission to Simplify Operations and Logistics for Growing E-commerce Companies
Seattle, WA – Saltbox, The Modern Warehouse Company, today announced it has expanded to Seattle to offer simplified logistics, scalable warehousing and office suites, on-demand support staff, flexible storage and loading docks big enough to make every entrepreneur’s dreams come true to empower small businesses and e-commerce entrepreneurs. With a 27,000-square foot facility in Atlanta and a 66,000-square foot facility in Dallas, Saltbox’s Seattle location is the company’s first on the West Coast.
Located in the South of Downtown (SoDo) neighborhood, Saltbox offers over 31,000 square feet and 49 warehouse suites for Seattle e-commerce business owners, entrepreneurs and more established e-commerce enterprises. The new space will include conference rooms, flexible office space and a photo studio.
“We’re thrilled to open our first Saltbox location on the West Coast in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, a region that has become an incubator for D2C companies in all categories and creative entrepreneurs,” said Saltbox CEO and Co-founder Tyler Scriven. “This expansion is strategic for our business’s growth and for the growth of future Saltbox members that may need logistical solutions in multiple cities across the country.”
Created by co-founders Tyler Scriven, Maxwell Bonnie and Paul D’Arrigo, Saltbox opened its first facility in Atlanta in November 2019. The 27,000-square foot location, in Atlanta’s Upper Westside, saw high-demand from small businesses seeking a purpose-built co-warehousing solution that offers flexible workspaces, a range of integrated logistics services, and all of the modern amenities and conveniences that companies of all sizes have come to expect. In March, Saltbox opened its second location, a 66,000-square foot facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex region and it’s first Fulfillment hub looking to bring a human touch to fulfillment that often is impersonal and distant.
In April, Saltbox announced it had completed a $10.6 million Series A round of financing to accelerate the company’s U.S. expansion of its flex-warehouses, co-working spaces and proprietary logistics enablement solutions. Led by Playground Global, the Series A round also included XYZ Venture Capital, and Wilshire Lane Partners, bringing Saltbox’s total funding since inception to $16 million.
Saltbox plans to open several additional Saltbox workspaces across the U.S. in 2021, serving entrepreneurs in Denver, Los Angeles and other major markets.
“Saltbox brings an innovative co-warehousing model with integrated logistics support, and their strategic SoDo location offers new opportunities and access to all innovators and entrepreneurs. Greater Seattle is an amazing place for startups. We have incredibly supportive venture capital companies, and we’re home to a world-changing e-commerce industry. We are proud to welcome Saltbox’s first West Coast location to Greater Seattle,” said Chris Mefford, Interim CEO of Greater Seattle Partners.
“Seattle Made is excited to support the launch of Saltbox’s newest location in Seattle!” said Andrea Porter, Program Manager of Seattle Made. “With affordable production and warehousing space being a persistent and ever-growing need in the local manufacturing landscape, we’re hopeful that Saltbox will help fill a need in supporting makers and small-batch manufacturers to maintain production in Seattle.”
