Boeing Continues to Invest in our Future
More than half a century after its first flight, the last Boeing 747 will be delivered to Atlas Air on January 31, 2023. The people and place that produced such longstanding innovations not only changed the face of aviation but the world as a whole.
This incredible legacy of superior safety, design and efficiency continues here in Greater Seattle and Washington State. We could not be more excited for the future with Boeing.
Nearly three years after the pandemic hit the commercial aviation industry with full force, Boeing’s Washington state employment is growing.
- Boeing’s team in Washington grew by nearly 4,500 people in 2022.
- The company’s Washington workforce now stands at more than 60,000 teammates.
- It plans to hire an additional 10,000 employees across the company in 2023, including here in the Puget Sound.
As it has been for over a century, Washington is home to its largest workforce anywhere in the world.
Boeing just announced it will set up a new 737 MAX assembly line in Everett. This is in addition to three existing MAX assembly lines in Renton. Boeing also has major facilities located in Auburn, Frederickson and beyond.
The company continues to bolster the talent pipeline by investing in key programs that help us provide the highest employment level of aerospace engineers in the nation. The new student success center in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture on WSU’s Pullman campus is one example of many.
Boeing also continues to make significant achievements in addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions, in addition to committing to delivering 100% SAF capable airplanes by 2030.
Boeing has thousands of open roles in Washington, and this year it will hire skilled positions in engineering, manufacturing and more, as it continue to respond to the recovery in the aerospace industry and invest in the future.
Boeing has nurtured an environment at the intersection of aerospace and technology unlike anywhere else on Earth. These invaluable contributions to our economy and its people over the past one-hundred years has created an unmatched place to live, work and play. Together, we will continue to foster a culture of innovation and shape the modern world. Come join us!
