State-level export data is out for October, which highlights a 17.5% increase in Washington state exports from September – October 2019. That said, October numbers are significantly below export values for the same time last year. When looking at the MSA-level, Greater Seattle exports totaled over $9.5 billion in Q2 2019, a 21% decrease from the previous quarter.    

State and regional highlights include:

Washington state (October 2019)

Washington state exports in October totaled nearly 4.88 billion, bringing the year to date total to just over $49.2 billion, ranking Washington state 6th in the US.

  • 17.5% increase in state exports (September – October 2019)  
  • -20.5% decline in state exports compared to October 2018 

Greater Seattle (Q2 2019)

Greater Seattle merchandise exports totaled over $9.577 in Q2 2019, ranking the region 6th in the US.

  • -21%  Decline from Q1 2019
  • -34.5% Decline from Q2 2018
