Shannon Braddock Appointed President and CEO of Greater Seattle Partners

SEATTLE, Wash. (May 4, 2026) – Greater Seattle Partners (GSP), the region’s public-private economic development organization, today announced the appointment of Shannon Braddock as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 4, 2026. Braddock brings more than two decades of public sector leadership and deep regional expertise to the role. Known for her steady, thoughtful approach, she has built a reputation as a leader who listens closely, brings people together and follows through with action. She will lead economic development, international relations, global marketing and research to drive quality jobs, investment and talent to the Greater Seattle region.

“Shannon is the kind of leader Greater Seattle Partners needs at this pivotal moment,” said Shane Jones, GSP Board Chair and Senior Vice President – Fleet, Products, and Guest Experience at Alaska Airlines. “She has spent her career building bridges across government, business, and community and is a trusted, proven leader who brings exceptional credibility and collaborative energy to GSP.”

Braddock was appointed to serve as King County Executive in 2025, becoming the first woman to hold the office. She oversaw one of the largest county governments in the country, serving more than 2.3 million residents across one of the nation’s most dynamic economic regions. Prior to serving as Executive, she held senior leadership positions in the King County Executive’s Office including Deputy Executive and Chief of Staff. Her experience includes oversight of King County’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Creative Economy, as well as service on regional boards including the Puget Sound Regional Council, Sound Transit, and currently, the Seattle Colleges Board. She has also played a central role in advancing public-private partnerships, long-term budget strategy and intergovernmental collaboration.

“I am excited to help tell the dynamic story of our Greater Seattle region and to strengthening the economic development ecosystem that makes it possible,” said Braddock. “GSP plays a critical role connecting our cities, counties, industries, and global partners around a shared vision of sustainable growth and opportunity. I look forward to building on the foundation that the entire GSP team and the Board have established, and to working alongside our public and private partners to ensure our region remains a destination for talent, innovation, and investment. I am grateful to Interim President and CEO Rebecca Lovell for her stewardship of the organization during this time of transition and her continued partnership as I step into this role”

Braddock holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University.
