2025 SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff Showcases Greater Seattle’s Global Investment Appeal

From May 6-9, 2025, Greater Seattle Partners (GSP) hosted its signature international business attraction program: the SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff. GSP brought together 23 international companies from seven countries: Brazil, Finland, India, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Taiwan, represented by 27 senior executives who are ready, willing, and able to invest in our region.

International Delegates & Key Industry Sectors

The 2025 delegation spanned a range of high-growth and strategic sectors. Participating executives represented companies advancing:

  • AI-powered robotics and autonomous security technologies from South Korea
  • Smart manufacturing and advanced composite materials from India
  • Gaming AI assistants and next-generation chips from Taiwan
  • Cloud and enterprise IT solutions from Brazil and Poland
  • Aerospace components, drone technologies, and aircraft maintenance from India
  • Fintech and AI analytics for smart city and industrial applications from India
  • Green building and cleantech materials from Finland
  • Global investment corporation focused on climate tech, AI, and biotech from Japan

Each of these companies came with a clear interest in Greater Seattle, from setting up U.S. headquarters to expanding R&D and manufacturing operations.

A Program Designed to Inspire Action

Led by Greater Seattle Partners and made possible by a coalition of public and private sector sponsors, the three-day program provided:

  • In-depth economic briefings on King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties in Washington State
  • Visits to leading innovation hubs and industry clusters across the region
  • Networking events with elected officials and business executives
  • Showcases of sector strengths in aerospace, IT, maritime, and clean energy
  • Customized support for future investment plans, including office, manufacturing, and workforce opportunities

A special highlight this year was the announcement of VishwaGuru Infotech’s expansion to Greater Seattle. With a planned investment of $10 million over the next 1-3 years, Indian IT company aims to create up to 25 high-quality local jobs across sales, marketing, and software development. Powered by Partnership

This effort would not have been possible without the support of our partners who helped create a seamless, impactful experience for visiting delegates. From innovation panels and site visits to cultural tours and family-like warm hospitality, our community amplified the region as a global business destination.

And the results speak for themselves. In 2024 alone, Greater Seattle attracted $4.52 billion in inbound foreign direct investment from 45 international companies across 59 projects, creating 6,294 new jobs. These investments spanned aerospace, IT, biotech, clean tech, manufacturing, and beyond demonstrating the region’s capacity to support international growth.

A Regional Program for Global Opportunity

The SelectUSA Investment Summit, held annually in Washington, D.C., is the nation’s highest-profile event to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) into the United States. Building on the momentum from that summit, the SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff program allows visiting companies to explore regional markets through curated familiarization tours and direct engagement with business and government leaders.

“The SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff highlights the diverse industries and global opportunities across our region,” said Brian Surratt, President and CEO of Greater Seattle Partners. “Showcasing our communities through a regional lens: rich in talent, clean energy, and the largest aerospace supply chain in the U.S. is key to attracting international investment.”
