Cleantech
Real-world solutions for growing the green economy.
Greater Seattle’s Collective Vision for Cleantech Innovation and Sustainability.
Welcome to Greater Seattle Partners’ Cleantech hub, where innovation and sustainability thrive. Supported by the Washington State legislature, the Clean Energy Fund has advanced clean energy technologies since 2013, authorizing over $150 million for various projects.
Our ambitious plans include developing hydrogen, fusion, wind, solar, and hydropower. The Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) is creating a regional hydrogen network, potentially bringing federal funding and thousands of jobs. Our initiatives are backed by Tribal Nations, businesses, higher education institutions, and environmental groups, all working towards national clean energy goals. Our commitment to environmental stewardship ensures a sustainable future for our vibrant ecosystem.
Strength in Numbers
From Eviation Aircraft, a manufacturer of all-electric aircraft, to TOTE Maritime, the first in the nation to build liquid natural gas (LNG) powered ships, we are working towards a safe, affordable, clean energy future.

Investing in Cleantech Innovation
Investments in clean tech in the Greater Seattle Area have been significantly bolstered by local angel investors, driving substantial growth in the sector. The cleantech-focused angel group E8 (formerly Northwest Energy Angels) has committed $60 million to early-stage cleantech companies. Additionally, the Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator, a joint program of the CleanTech Alliance and Seattle-based clean energy venture fund VertueLab, has provided 18 weeks of mentorship, training, and networking to early-stage startups since 2016. VertueLab has invested $9.5 million in the sector to date, further supporting the region’s burgeoning cleantech ecosystem.
